About the project

We at Heart of Istria are working on a great crowdfunding project – building a luxury vacation home in the Mediterranean for everyone!

The aim of the project is unique – building a luxury villa nestled in the heart of Istria, Croatia – the number 1 tourist destination for vacations.

Our Indiegogo campaign is now live! View and back our project at: https://igg.me/at/istria.

Meet the team

Kresimir – project leader and property specialist.

Kresimir is a child of the eighties. In Croatia that was a magical time, at least as far as nostalgia goes! Growing up at the time meant less computers – since the Commodore was state of the art at the time, and more playing out in the sun. Touring the beautiful Croatian coast, exploring the many islands, running, swimming, diving or just dangling his feet over the water, Kresimir spent his summer holidays enjoying everything Croatia has to offer. As an adult, he now understands the deeper beauty of it all while still fondly remembering the childhood fun of running in the sun. Of course, he can now appreciate many other qualities such as the delicious food or breath taking sights. Since Istria has a special place in his heart, having spent a lot of time in the small town of Vrsar, he wants to enable everyone to experience his Croatia!

Kresimir has years of experience managing real estates and is therefore ideally suited for carrying out the acquisition, construction and management phases of the project. Rest assured the holiday home will be the best villa you’ve ever seen and the experience in Istria one which will stay with you for the rest of your life.

Dijana – the people person of the team.

When this pretty lady smiles you know you’re in good hands. With a great eye for design and a love for indulging in life’s pleasures, Dijana will make sure the villa looks fabulous on the inside and that every whim and comfort has been anticipated.

QUICK SERVE – the IT and design team.

These web developers and designers are responsible for bringing the whole project online. Without their expertise we’d be stuck spreading news of the project by word of mouth! Thank you guys for the great work! You can check them out here.

About Istria

Istria is a picture postcard heart shaped peninsula surrounded by the blue green waters of the Adriatic. It is a region of magical hill towns and seaside villages, gorgeous beaches and absolutely delicious wine, olive oil, and truffles. At once a paradise for gastronomy and relaxation, activity and sightseeing.
Pula, once the chief port of Austro-Hungarian Empire, is a bustling town situated at the south-east end of the Istrian peninsula. The Romans put the city squarely on the map in 177 BC, and the most obvious relic of their rule, the 1st century BC Amphitheatre, is also to be admired today. The Arena (amphitheatre) occupies a dominant position above the harbour. It is the world’s sixth largest preserved amphitheatre.
Rovinj is one of the most developed and attractive seaside resorts in Croatia, surrounded by abundant pine forests and islands. Rovinj offers a whole range of opportunities for visitors. It is also known for its’ medieval architecture labyrinth of streets, stairways and picturesque squares.
Porec is another beautiful harbour on the Istrian peninsula. Nestled in the historic old town is the UNESCO world heritage 6th-century Euphrasian Basilica complex, famous for its gem-studded Byzantine mosaics. The coastline north and south of town draws visitors with camping areas, marinas and beaches with water sports.
At the foot of the Motovun hill, the mythical Jason and the Argonauts sailed along the Mirna River, but signs of first inhabitants in the area date from 3500 B.C. Sitting on top of the hill, Motovun town has become a major tourist attraction due to its recognizable medieval shape and great climate. Walk down the medieval streets, explore the city walls or enjoy nature and adventure in the beautiful countryside through various bike and walking trails. You might even get to hear the legend of Veli Jože!
Vrsar is a small village, just another place on the coast standing since medieval times from where you can observe the many islands, islets, bays and coves. While special it might pass for unremarkable in an area filled with such beautiful towns but Vrsar has fully devoted itself to tourists offering activities such as water sports, hiking, caving, diving or simple boat trips! There are also the many events such as the Fishermen festival, Montraker live festival or Casanovafest – a few days celebrating love and eroticism in memory of Giacomo Casanova who visited Vrsar a few times, probably drawn by the wonderful and secluded naturist beaches which are still very popular today!
